What are journals?

Journals are published regularly (usually quarterly or monthly).  They publish the latest academic research and are usually peer-reviewed or refereed.  The articles have been reviewed to ensure there are no mistakes in the methodology or reasoning. You might hear them called:

  • peer-reviewed journals
  • refereed journals
  • research journals
  • scientific journals
  • scholarly journals
