The Library has journals in both print and electronic formats. All journal titles regardless of format have a catalogue record. Note that there are separate records for print and electronic formats of the same title.

To find articles on a particular topic, use the Indexing Databases.

To find a particular journal select from the search menu Journal begins with .... and type in the exact title.

For print holdings scroll to the red information at the bottom of the record. Click on Show items for information about specific volumes.

In the records for electronic versions there may be links to more than one source of the journal listed in the Web access section of the record.

The Subject keyword search can be used to search for journals in a particular subject area. Type in the word periodicals and subject words, such as anthropology, ethnology, culture, e.g. periodicals anthropology.

Note that the Anthropology databases index articles in a large number of different journals. Search these to find articles on your topic.

Here are some convenient ways of keeping up-to-date with journal articles being published on your subject:-

AnthroSource, Web of Science and Sociological Abstracts enable you to set up an automatic search alert. Save your search on the database and each time new records matching your search are added they will be emailed to you.

For key journals, go to the publisher's web site and set up a table-of-contents alert. Each time a new issue is published the table of contents will be emailed to you.
