Treaty of Waitangi : Te Tiriti o Waitangi

The Treaty of Waitangi was first signed at Waitangi on 6th February 1840. The Treaty and copies of it were then taken around the country to gather more signatures. 

In the South Island the Treaty was signed at Ōnuku near Akaroa, Ruapuke in the Foveaux Strait, at the Otago Heads, and at Cloudy Bay in Marlborough.
