The current version is EndNote X8. Once you have installed the download from this page you will get automatic prompts when updates are available. You will be asked for your UC login.

Additional Files

The Library provides some modified and additional Filters, Connection, and Styles files which are useful for this University.

 Note that any zipped files need to be 'unzipped' i.e. right-click and choose the extract command.

Using MAC

Note that you cannot export records directly to your EndNote Library in Mac. You have to download the records and choose to "open with EndNote" option and then choose the right filter to export the references to your EndNote Library.

Google Scholar

You must first configure Google Scholar. Go to Google Scholar  and select Scholar Settings 
Scroll down to Bibliography Manager and click on the radio button Show links to import citations into:  Select EndNote. Click on the box Save.

  1. Once you have done your search, you should see Import into EndNote. Click on "Import into EndNote", then choose to , then select GoogleScholar filter, the record should automatically go to your EndNote Library

     Note you must download the Google Scholar filter and save it in Applications\EndNote X7\Filters before you can import into EndNote. The filter is available at http://www.lib.ucdavis.edu/dept/instruc/research/endnote/files/googlescholar.enf .
     
  2. A. If that does not work, you can  choose Save File or Download  File to your computer depending your browser. Normally the file should appear in your Downloads folder. 

    B. Open your EndNote Library, click on File>Import, then select the scholar.enw file you have downloaded and then choose googlescholar as the Import Options (see below), then click on Import, then you should see the reference in your EndNote Library.

Multisearch

1. Hover your mouse on the right handside of the document you wish to export to EndNote and then click on  to save the item into a temporary folder.

2.  Click on Saved Items folder at the bottom of the search page.

3. Select  and a summon.ris file will be downloaded to your computer in Safari or Chrome. If in Firefox, choose to Save as and a summon.ris file will be saved, normally in your Download folder

4. Open your EndNote Library, click on File>Import and select the summon.ris file. Make sure you choose Import Options as Reference Manager (RIS), then Import
