Forestry: Writing and citing

Guide to Forestry at the University of Canterbury

Choosing a citation style

The Forestry department uses the APA Style.  Other citations styles are available so you might want to check with your lecturer/supervisor. Some common styles include:

Author-date

Numbered

  • Royal Society of Chemistry
  • Environmental Science and Technology

Read more about citing.

Technical writing

See our writing guides page for books which have useful hints for writing on technical subjects.

Visit the Learning Skills Centre for workshops and/or personal help.

Writing a thesis

See the Thesis Guide for resources for writing your thesis and instructions on depositing it.

If you're wondering how to format it, have a look at what other Forestry theses have done before.

Remember that I'm always happy to answer any questions you have about researching, citing, or anything else!
