Pacific Law: Parliamentary Publications

Finding Parliamentary Publications

Many Pacific countries use the Westminster system of Parliamentary Government.

Each jurisdiction has a number of formal mechanisms for reporting on the proceedings of Parliament.

This formal reporting may include:

  • Appendix to the Journal House of Representatives and/or Senate
  • Gazette
  • Journal of the House of Representatives and/or Senate
  • Parliamentary Debates (Hansard)
  • Parliamentary Papers
  • Standing Orders

The Macmillan Brown Library holds an incomplete print collection of Parliamentary publications for individual Pacific jurisdictions.

In addition, a significant number of Parliamentary publications are available online on the Pacific Islands Legal Information Institute (PacLII) database.
