Ngā Paetukutuku ā-Iwi - Ngā Kaitiaki ā-Iwi

Tēnā koe. Below is a list of helpful sites for students who are researching whānau, hapū, and iwi information. Although the list is extensive, there may be some sites that are yet to be listed. As you will see, they have been categorized into geographical location in order for students to locate the area information on the map of Aotearoa.

Māori Maps is a digital gateway to the tribal marae of Aotearoa through maps, information and photographs. Another helpful online resource is Te Kāhui Māngai, a directory from Te Puni Kōkiri of Iwi and Māori organisations for anyone looking to find basic information about iwi, hapū and marae. Christchurch City Libraries also has links to helpful resources when searching for Whakapapa - Genealogy information.
